House is close to some wonderful restaurants, and close to historical Charleston. I would not want to decorate this huge home and then have renters remove or destroy it. We fully understood the reasoning behind this. Previous review addressed the inability to move furniture around. There was sufficient room for all 15 of us to spread out and enjoy our time at the Casa Flamingo. The pool was awesome and provided a lot of fun. House has been well taken care over the years. The house was fully furnished, kitchen well stocked, etc. The house was just a hoot with all the different décor in every room. Fifteen ladies ventured into Casa Flamingo for a week of fun and activity. Driving into Charleston is easy for tours, restaurants, the Market, etc. There is an elevator, which came in handy when my mother was confined to a wheelchair, and the shower on the lower level is a handicap walk-in. This has been a perfect spot for our multigenerational family. There is a new Harris Teeter grocery store on Palm Blvd very close to the property, as well as a fresh fish market across the street! We love to grill occasionally! Many nights we walk down the sidewalk to dinner or for ice cream!! The other really nice thing about Casa Flamingo is that it is very close to the small shopping center at IOP. The top floor where the dining area is has the best view!!! The pool is so nice when the ocean is rough, and the ocean allows for such a beautiful setting. It is apparent that they want to make their guests comfortable. I love the improvements the owners make each year. My sisters and our extended families congregate from east and west to enjoy each other’s company at this house. This summer was the fourth time we have stayed in Casa Flamingo. Highly recommend this property to others (but not the week I want to rent it 🙂 🙂 ) The beds are wonderful and comfortable!!! It is nice to see a house where the owner obviously cares about the comfort of the guests and is not just putting the cheapest furnishings in she can find. After getting together for over 20 years at various beaches this was the first time at the end of the week I was not wishing for my own bed. I will say it was great to have 2 coffee pots (regular and Keurig)- the coffee drinkers loved that. The only thing I would improve on would be the kitchen…having a second dishwasher, a stand alone ice maker, and a larger oven or even a double oven would have made it easier when cooking for such a large group. With that many people in the house it was great to have cold drinks all the time. We walked to dinner, shopping and of course ice cream. Being walking distance to the little town was so great.

Coming up the stairs to the top floor with the wall of windows and the view said it all “WOW”. We love playing games and visiting and the extra large table was perfect. The pool was amazing and the chairs and swings on the decks were comfortable and such high quality.

Even as we were packing up we saw new decorations. Our family gets together every other year at the beach and Casa Flamingo was the most creative house we have ever stayed in. In fact, we immediately reserved this beautiful home for next summer before we left this season. Overall, and with a lot of experience renting larger ocean front homes, we feel Casa Flamingo is by far the most fun, the most remarkable, and the best value and we will return often. The two grills were a great touch and the downstairs large refrigerator was also a welcomed amenity. Again the pool is amazing and easily the most popular area for children. There are rocking chairs and porch swings on every verandah which made hanging out outside listening to the ocean waves a a daily and nightly ritual. The view from this space and the layout of the kitchen/dining/living room space is 2nd to none! We felt we could easily host 10 more people in this well apportioned space. The location could not be better, the pool is remarkable and a great size for families, the bedrooms are themed and fun for all, and the updated kitchen / living room is the most spectacular space we have seen in over 15 years of renting large, ocean front homes. There are so many amazing attributes of this home that it is hard to list them all. Casa Flamingo is by far the best home we have ever had the pleasure to inhabit for our annual family beach vacation! Our group of 9 adults and 10 children ages 6 to 16 have found the perfect home.
